#46 - UK Trip: Road Trip to Scotland Part 1

Two days after we came back from London, we went for a road trip to Edinburgh, Scotland. We planned to stop over at a few places therefore we ruled out the flying out to Scotland although it's going to take total of 12 hours journey.

At 7 in the morning, we began our journey to our first stop, Birmingham.

Like the typical city in United Kingdom, Birmingham (to me) is a laid back town. But, it was totally based on my 1 and half hours observation. Since we won't be long here, the best place to be is the souvenir market/shop. We stopped over at this place called St. Martin's Market (a.k.a The Rag's Market). Unfortunately, it was not a souvenir market, it's a normal market where you sell every other things but not souvenir.

Damn.

We ended up buying halal chicken in front of the market. I must say, it was very delicious. Our next stop is Stoke-On-Trent.

PortMeirion; the place to be should you are in Stoke-On-Trent. It sells cookware, dinner set, kitchen ware and etc. This is actually NOT my kind of place. I spent the first 15 minutes going around the shop (and it's not even big) with no feeling at all. But I did grab some of the stuff there.

But none of them were mine. Those are for our family and friends. I think if we have our own house then probably I would buy something but not now. Later, Insya Allah.

3 hours gone so went off to the our next destination; the city where you will never walk alone, Liverpool. The obvious place that we went was of course, THE Anfield Stadium.

I bought some stuff for my brother as he is the only one in the family who is a supporter of Liverpool. But, to tell you the truth, Liverpool has better and more choice of merchandises.

After some photo shoot sessions, we off to our last destination of the day, Edinburgh.

This magnificent view greeted us went we entered Scotland. From this spot, we were like 2 hours away from Edinburgh city. The moment we reached our rented apartment in Edinburgh, I was ready to pass out. It was one of the longest journey ever. Like literally.

End of day 1. Will continue the Day 2 entry later.

#45 - UK Trip: London City

"London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down, may Fair Lady". I'm not sure with the current generation but we used to have a game based on this song. This song came to my mind when we decided to go to London.

We took a bus from Bristol and it took us 2 hours to reach London. It was raining when we reached there. We had driver waiting for us at the bus station to bring us to apartment. But after some discussion, we decided to stop over at Stamford Bridge Stadium first as it's on the way.

This was En. Suami's suggestion as he is a Chelsea fan. Although I claimed to be a United fan, but I don't care really which stadiums we go. To me, it's a photo shoot opportunity. Hahaha. En. Suami obviously was super happy. I didn't buy anything here because none of my family member is a fan of Chelsea.

After that, we had some middle eastern lunch and we stopped by at the apartment to drop off all our luggage to make some space for our purchases for our shopping trip to Beicester Village later.

Biecester Village is one of the family factory outlets in London. But still, I didn't shop that much because it was still considered expensive to me. That, ladies and gentlemen, requires a lot of self-control.

After the shopping madness, it was the end of day one.

The next day was dedicated for a City tour.

Our first stop was at the London Tower Bridge then we off to see Big Ben and of course changing guards at Buckingham Palace. Then we stopped for lunch at a place called "Jom Makan" where the served Malay cuisine before we off to Trafalgar Square which was around the corner.

Later, we went to White Lilies to shop, Royal Albert Hall and few other places that I could not recall the names. Initially I wanted to go to Madame Tussaud but we were running out of time. So, I'm gonna save that place for my next trip to London which I don't even know when yet.

Our last day in London, we had breakfast at Malaysian Hall and we off to Swindon Designer Outlet. Yes, another round of shopping. We spent like 2 and half hours there and back to Bristol.

Till my next entry on my UK trip :)

#44 - UK Trip: Stopover in Amsterdam and Hello Bristol

The UK trip was rather a last minute decision by En. Suami. The initial plan was only between my parents in law and sister in law. We departed from KLIA on 6th April to Amsterdam by MAS. It was definitely the longest journey ever as I was having trouble to sleep.

I was excited and the seat was not that comfortable. Who can blame me?

We reached Schipol International Airport at about 7.15am. Since we already checked in our luggage from KL straight to Bristol and had 6 hours of transit, we planned to use the time to visit Keukenhof, the largest flower garden in the world.

I'm not really a fan of flowers but to me tulips are very pretty. So ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to see tulips in Amsterdam. Yes, I can see tulips at any other places too but there's nothing like seeing a flower from where it's really belong.

It was a beautiful sight at Keukenhof despite the tulips were not fully bloom. I'm sure once the tulips are in full bloom, it will be a magnificent scenery. We spent like one and half hours there. Obviously we didn't fully covered the whole place but it was enough to me.

Dream #1: To visit tulips garden in Amsterdam Checked!

We took a bus and went back to the airport as we have a plane to catch. There, we met up with my parents in law, sisters in law and nephew. From there, we flown to Bristol by KLM and the journey took about one hour.

In Bristol, we stayed over at my another SIL's house. She is currently in Bristol pursuing her doctorate.

The very next day we visited Bristol City and it was pretty much dead because of Easter weekend. We were literally window shopping. Haha. Hey, at least we got to eat at halal KFC.

The first 2 days, we spent most of our time in Bristol before our trip to London which I will tell in my next entry.

Till then.

#43 - Get In Touch

Hello.

A month after I came back from my UK Trip and I didn't drop a line here at all. So, I'll definitely going to write down bits and pieces from my recent trip. But here's I have been up to since I came back.

1) One week after my holiday, I re-join my ex company on contract basis to help them with some of the assignments although I this point, I regretted my decision. I should have look at other options. But, it's too late now.

2) My house is still look like a tongkang pecah. I don't even have time to reorganize every thing.

3) Basically I'm not doing anything much besides complaining about my job. Urgh! I need to get out. Otherwise, I'd be too stress out.

Story of my life.

Till then.
